Born and raised near Chicago, I was fortunate to grow up in a family that prioritized travel, and I took many trips around the U.S. in my youth. At age 16, I went on my first multi-country international trip and have been hooked on seeing the world ever since. My most recent excursion was a 10-country backpacking journey through Europe, which was an incredible experience.​​ My next experience will be venturing through the wilderness and cities of the Western U.S. and Canada -- articles and photos from this coming soon!

In college, I was a campus tour guide and radio sports broadcaster. I greatly enjoyed being an expert on a topic and sharing relevant information with listeners to enhance their experience and help them become passionate about something that I had already grown to love. After studying abroad in Scandinavia, I realized that I wanted to use my 20s to see the world and give others an insight into these experiences. Hence, JR Journeys was born. I hope that my recommendations, stories, and pictures will help you plan your own successful trips and provide interesting facts about some of the amazing destinations that I've been lucky enough to see. The beauty of travel is that it's for everyone, and there's always more to learn about a place or culture!

Outside of travel, I am an avid sports fan, enjoy watching movies, and often can be found listening to music. When I'm not at my computer or on the road, I'm usually teaching myself a song on guitar, going for a bike ride, or spending time with friends and family.
